Family Resource Center client, Maxwell Scherf, 10, was recently the recipient of a handicapped-accessible bicycle through the generosity of several FRC community donors. Maxwell currently receives supported community living and respite services from the Family Resource Center.
Bradi Burr, Family Resource Center coordinator who oversees the services Maxwell receives from FRC, said, “Maxwell has Type 1 diabetes and autism, along with a host of other serious disabilities. This handicapped-accessible bicycle will enable him to feel just like any other child in his age group, and will provide a fun form of exercise for him as well.”
Tim Nichols, FRC executive director, said, “We are very grateful to FRC’s donors who made it possible for us to purchase this adaptive bicycle for Maxwell. Working with our community partners greatly enhances our agency’s ability to do more to meet our clients’ individual needs.”
Family Resource Center provides a wide array of services to individuals with physical and mental disabilities, brain injuries, and intellectual disorders.
